If you like “music of joyful praise” the OGCMA has 3 concerts coming up featuring a variety of ensembles in the Great Auditorium at 7 pm on Sundays. For more information visit the CMA site : WWW. oceangrove.org
I’m not sure about the programs, but clearly these concerts will feature religious music.
The King Brass will perform on Sunday, July 21. This is what Phil Smith says about this group:
“The King’s Brass is a terrific brass chamber ensemble!! They do not specialize “in religious music only.” Their program is varied and fun…nothing boring or religiously stuffy here. Folks will not want to miss this fine group. I have performed with them and know Tim Zimmerman and some of the group personally. Fine musicians! Great performers! Terrific show!”
The Solisti Ensemble will be here on Sunday July 7. They are a string ensemble without a conductor. They have been in OG before, and their repertoire is varied. We assume that this concert will be about ‘”joyful praise.”
The Philadelphia Brass will be performing on Sunday, August 11. They are a highly regarded brass quintet, and and as a fan of brass music, this is the one I would like to see, although the program has not been revealed. The advance billing says that they also will be doing “an evening of joyful praise.”
Here are the Philadelphia Brass with “The Twelve Days of Christmas” from their album of carols:
