While we are on the subject of decisions made by the CMA which affect the lifestyles of all who live here as well as visitors, here is a re-post of another such example. Note the comments. Click on the word “Blogfinger” beneath this sentence.

Tom, this was never a choice between dog beach and surfer beach. The CMA could have had both at the same location.
A more likely choice would have been surfers or swimmers, and, again, the CMA could have had both at the north end beach and even a few hours near twilight for dogs as well. Certainly surfers and dogs could coexist without danger.
But if the CMA couldn’t handle all that complexity, then swimmers should have been allowed at the North End, with surfers taking center stage when the swimmers were done–before and/or after.
It is this sort of arbitrary power by people who do not represent all the citizens of Ocean Grove that is unfair.
I think surfers should get dibs on the beach over dogs. After all, you can build a dog park almost anywhere but surfing pretty much needs to be at the beach. That being said – I think a dog park in OG Is a great idea. There are so many dog lovers (and dogs) in OG.
