The Circus Drive-in fast food restaurant opened in 1954 on Rt. 35 north. Its round structure caught the eye of tourists heading to the shore. After feeding generations of hungry motorists, business began to decline, and the land became more valuable than the restaurant.
In May, 2018, it was demolished (except for the sign) despite efforts to save it by local historians.
The land will now be used for retail businesses in an area that already is becoming more congested.
