That’s why I chose Gato Barbieri’s “Girl in Black” (Para mi Negra) — a tango by the jazz saxophonist (b. 1934 in Argentina) who wrote the incredible score for film “The Last Tango in Paris” with Marlon Brando.
This song seems to fit for this photo. Argentina is horse country, and the tango is very sexy.
Do you see any of that in the photo? How do those riders get out of those pants anyhow?

2017: I used to be able to imitate a horse’s whinny. You can imagine it, and I taught our two sons how to whinny.
Luckily we had a neighbor across the street named, believe it or not, Bill Horsey.–a great guy; Irish; he sold frozen Kosher appetizers–you know, like hot dogs in a blanket served with deli mustard.
So whenever we drove past his house, we would all do our whinnies. It was great fun, but now that our boys are men, I haven’t heard the whinny any more; plus we moved to Ocean Grove. There used to be a horse in the Grove, but it’s been gone for awhile. —-Paul
Upon seeing this article I thought it was promoting an outstanding event that takes place each fall in Far Hills, NJ (Somerset County) benefiting a hospital based in Somerville. As a veteran of many of these outings I strongly encourage people to consider attending this year’s event being held on Oct 20th. Known as the “Super Bowl of Tailgating” its an amazing display of steeplechase and of excesses of all types. Check it out at http://farhillsrace.org/ for an experience you’ll remember.
