The dog issue is still present, and is even more urgent because of the increasing dog population in town. We don’t have data, but just take a walk around town and visit the parks. All it would take to have a dog park is a bit of fencing. There is a good spot near the tennis courts.
And how about a dog beach like the one which is so successful in A. Park at their north end? After all, the Township of Neptune created a surfing beach at the North End. The surfers don’t care about the beach. That would be a perfect place. And besides, there are many more dog owners in the Grove than there are surfers. Let’s not have favoritism and double standards. We all know about the good-old-boy Grover network that gets what it wants from Neptune Township;
Write the CMA and the Committee and demand a place to take our dogs. Click on “Blogfinger” below this message for the music.
Hi Paul, the OGCMA has been petitioned twice by patrons of the Ocean Grove pet boutique to have the grassy area adjacent to the Inskip tennis courts to become a dog park. Both times the OGCMA has said a dog park would not fit into their official ‘mission’ and therefore would not it be used for such a purpose. It’s a shame. With the sewer plant right next door to the grassy area, what else do they think can go there? I’d say the odor would prevent houses from being built, but when it comes to the OGCMA, who knows what they have up their sleeve. With new flood maps WAVE land is in a flood zone and they are still trying to justify having that built.
