This is part of what they say about A. Park:
“Leading the pack is the Coolest Small Town in America 2017, , Asbury Park, New Jersey, an easy road trip from New York or Philadelphia. The coolest comeback in America may be right here in Asbury Park – the revitalized Boardwalk offers great shopping, dining, and views of one of the East Coast’s most beautiful beaches. This beach town that helped launch Bruce Springsteen is, not surprisingly, a music mecca – check out shows at the legendary Stone Pony, the Paramount Theater and Convention Hall, and other venues. We love Asbury Park’s cultural diversity, welcoming vibe, and year-round calendar of events: Fourth of July fireworks, Oysterfest, Zombie Walk, and so much more.”
So do you agree? Is AP a “music mecca?” Does it have “great shopping.?” Is its beach “one of the East Coast’s most beautiful beaches”? Is there noteworthy “cultural diversity?” And does it have a notable “year round” calendar of events?
I think these lists, which we have seen before, represent a snow job, and the hyperbole is ridiculous. I remember when OG was picked for such a list. That too was an exaggeration. Follow the money.

AP? No one goes there anymore, it’s too popular.
Ummmm…well, it actually is pretty cool. I agree that all these polls are nonsense…but Asbury Park is cool…and yes, I believe it is the coolest small town in America. Some of us are obviously just spoiled and take it for granted. Don’t! Enjoy it! It sure beats bordering Carteret…
I agree, A.P. is nice, I like it, there has been a big turnaround, but cooler than Carmel CA, Lambertville NJ, Galena IL, Moab UT and a bunch of other small places? I don’t think so! Obviously they don’t get out much or money changed hands!!
