There is a scene in Woody Allen’s movie Radio Days where Woody and his childhood friends go to Coney Island with binoculars during WWII to watch for German airplanes and submarines. Many people back then could identify aircraft from their silhouettes.
This plane flew over my head today, making a great deal of noise. It was maybe 5,000 feet up or more. It looked like a WWII era long range American bomber.
I enlarged it somewhat. There is an Air Force star on the wing. Maybe it is a B-24 Liberator, which was a heroic bomber which helped win that war.
Can anyone make a positive ID on this aircraft?
