The old Neptune Township Municipal Building. This undated photo hangs on the wall of the Township Committee. It should be an inspiration, but they don’t know much about history over there.
On Jan 1, 2017, a Neptune Twp.government organization ceremony will be held at the Neptune Twp. Municipal Building at noon.
But since things have gotten out of hand at town hall, here’s a modest proposal: they go back to basics by moving into their old building again and seeking some new (?or old) values and ideas.
M. WARD with a song that finds new ideas in an old composition:
In referencing Neptune Township’s government as it pertains to Ocean Grove, here are some of the categories where the Township could use some values and ideas from the past, even looking towards the U.S. Constitution:
Freedom of speech and abuse of citizens at Township meetings; transparency of government activities; acknowledging State Land Use Laws; obeying State RSIS parking laws; favoritism towards an inner influential circle that lives in OG; favoritism towards moneyed interests when it comes to protecting the town’s history and the life-styles; attempting to weaken the historic preservation guidelines; encouraging commercial development of the North End while ignoring the expressed best interests of the citizenry (re: Master Plan,) and environmental protection of our lakes for the sake of conservation, health and recreation.
And this list is not complete; maybe you want to add some of your own.

Bravo, Paul. What do residents have to do to make Neptune Twp. officials respond to Ocean Grove concerns? Ocean Grove is a ‘cash cow’ for Neptune. We pay the highest taxes as our needs are ignored. Not fair!
