Indeed it is sad that so many lost there lives at Pearl Harbor. It is really sad that it was needless and could have been prevented. Documents & facts finally disclosed reveal that FDR knew about impending attack weeks before it happened. He allowed it to happen as an excuse/reason to finally get involved in WW II.
We (the U.S.) should not have waited so long. We should have/could have put down Hitler in the mid to late 30’s when it was already clear he was a problem. If we had done so then there probably would not even have been a WW II. However denial, apathy, and anti-semitism were rampant at the time. A true shame.
FDR also set up internment camps and forced Japanese-Americans to be detained within them . While some may think FDR a great President, he was actually not at all.
Newbie: Every year on Dec. 7, a memorial service is held on the Ocean Grove Fishing Pier.
What an appropriate location to have the memorial.
