Illumination night, a Camp Meeting tradition, was held on Wesley Lake in the 19th century and then it vanished until Deb Cuddhy brought it back in the summer of 2014, at the Hub, the Camp Meeting Association’s bookstore and gift shop, which is located across from the Great Auditorium. Now it will return thanks to the new Hub manager Lynda Kusick.
The event will again be held at the Hub and across the street in Auditorium Square Park. Lights and lanterns will be hung there and by homeowners around town.
In addition, the OG Chamber of Commerce will sponsor an Illumination Night event featuring lights downtown and a special tribute/fund raiser for Rich Lepore,. Rich, the Chamber president, will be honored in recognition of his many contributions to Ocean Grove and in support of Rich and his family as he battles cancer.
There will be prizes for the best lighting in the home and the business categories. Live music will be provided and food including sandwiches, coffee, salads, and desserts.
The Hub carries lights which are for sale.
