This is what we said about fish oil supplements in 2012, but since then there has been some more information. And see this 1/19/16 video and article from the NY Times.
Clearly there is still no good evidence that supplements will improve clinical end points such as heart attack rates. And it is possible that Vit E supplements could be harmful. Best advice is to eat more fish and skip the supplements.
