Cold Feet. Monday morning: I hope to see the plows in less than a week as in the last snowstorm.
I am a nurse at Jersey Shore who will need to get to work on Wednesday morning at 7 AM. In the last snowstorm I had to wade through a foot plus of snow and then hitch hike to the hospital. No one in the township – police, emergency management, etc. would meet me outside the gates and drive me to the hospital.
You didn’t call the right people then. I have personally driven Neptune residents to JSUMC in my ambulance and brought them home.
Unbelievable!! The hospital where I worked in Morris County sent transportation out to pick up nurses and other necessary emergency personnel. Of course, if things got really bad, that system became imperfect as plows and trucks got stuck, etc. Many doctors, nurses and others simply camped out at the hospital. —Paul
What a sad tale. Is it not possible for the hospital to make arrangements for employees get to work in an emergency?
