September 27, 2014. Ocean Grove HOA meeting. Blogfinger reports:
- Unemployment in NJ has dropped to 6..6%, very similar to New York. State revenues are up this year. “We’re getting there,” says Sen. Beck.
- Too many NJ senior citizens are becoming out-of-state residents due to the high taxes here. “The State needs to do something about that.”
- Fort Monmouth redevelopment is a success. We lost 20,000 jobs from Ocean, Monmouth and Middlesex counties due to that base closing.
- New beach sand replenishment project by FEMA, after the New Year, will reassess the need for sand along this stretch of the Shore.
- Regarding parking issues in NJ, she said that Princeton now has parking garages, and they “are not bad looking.” But she doubted that it could be possible in Ocean Grove. She commented on RSIS regulations saying that Ocean Grove has been exempted.
- There is a 2% cap on town budget increases, but not on real estate taxes. More towns need to merge services such as school districts and departments of public works.
