It’s true Norm. You have to know how to navigate the situation. We often stop on one of the Causeway Islands where this photo was obtained—-technically part of Sanibel, but practically not. When you do get on the island, almost everybody (tourists) turns right. But we turn left and go by the lighthouse. No problemma.
And speaking of Spanish, you say “mucho touristas” but “tourista” also means Montezuma’s Revenge, that dreaded gastrointestinal Mexican hat dance which has you coming and going. But no tourista in Florida.

Sanibel is nice Paul. But only a narrow causeway on and off the island.
And did you ever travel it in rush hour?
Nice restaurants. Nice shells. But mucho touristas!
