To The Editor:
Re: The Verdiana Multi-media Concert in Ocean Grove, New Jersey.
Dear Dr. Goldfinger,
I want to thank you for the excellent coverage of the Ocean Grove event and the encouraging, complimentary words you had for the Mid-Atlantic Opera company and my performing colleagues up there on stage. It was a thrilling night to be part of and I can understand your enthusiasm at being able to walk a few steps from home (through such a beautiful town) to such an event.
As narrator for “Verdiana”, thank you for your kind words and for “getting it right” in terms of explaining the film project “27” to your readers so succinctly. I was concerned somewhat about the clip and its subtitles getting lost in the big house, but your words and the audience response have put those fears to rest.
Allow me, then, to share the 22-minute Promotional Reel for the film and a link to its website. This will further your enjoyment and allow the beautiful photography to be seen to its best advantage. Like a million other worthy projects in this town (NYC) the film project “27” is seeking tax-deductible donations at any level to move the project toward completion. If you could share these with your readers to further awareness of this project, I would be most grateful VIVA VERDI !!

The writer is a film-maker and Verdi expert who has been making a full length documentary film in Italy about Verdi. He was the narrator at the Ocean Grove “Verdiana” concert on Saturday September 21 where he showed some clips from the film “27.” The promo reel link is above and is marked “vimeo.” It is a high quality video and fun to watch.
Here’s a selection from Nabucco called “Chorus of the Hebrew Slaves,” a topic I try not to think about until Passover. It was this piece that opened the show in the Grove. It got everybody’s attention. —Paul Goldfinger, Editor @Blogfinger
