I’m sure they will say that this was another 50-year storm or whatever and not what the system was designed to handle.
Mostly everything was underwater for a good 35 minutes last night in the torrential part of the storm. I had water 2 inches up my porch step 9 feet from the curb and I don’t live on Broadway. It was a bad hit (again). I hope all fared better this time.

As the Mayor has said so many times, this is an uncompleted project, waiting for a critical part to be delivered. Yes, it has been a nightmare due to unforeseen utilities, ect, but can’t we all wait till the job is done and the pavement re-profiled and resurfaced to see the results.
Just like with the construction materials in the median, they are still needed by the contractor. Silly to move them off site, and then bring them back.
AND back to the eternal drainage situation on Broadway. It is 9:08 on Tuesday night and I came home about 30 minutes ago to find about an 18″ wide stream running along the curb on the south side of Broadway and the water had risen above the curb, flooded the sidewalk and I was in ankle deep water as far as my stairs! Earlier today, the frustrated owners of the Sea Spray sandbagged their ground level door and the part of their yard that is near one of the drains in the roadway. What a mess!
