I have done extensive research on bike locks so I thought I would share. The best lock is the kryptonite New York lock. It runs about 60 dollars and I bought mine at Amazon.com. Apparently anything other than a U lock is vulnerable and penetrable, especially if someone is highly motivated.
Thanks, Jennifer, I’m sure everyone will appreciate that information.
Comment: Editors,
I just found out that within the past couple of months, my neighbor’s bike was stolen from his backyard, where it was locked up inside a structure on the back patio, by a person who cut the lock with a butcher knife. They left the knife and stole the bike. Just thought you might want to add this to your collection of OG bike crimes.
The crime happened on Olin Street, between Beach and Central.
Thank you for all that you do, I visit the site daily and always learn when I do.
