Bill Frisell, guitarist, from his 1997 album “Nashville”—-“Will Jesus Wash the Bloodstains From Your Hands?” Hazel Jane Dickens is the vocalist. —PG
“Will Jesus wash the bloodstains from your hands?
Will He welcome you into that peaceful land?
Will He forgive the killing, the wars you have planned?
Will Jesus wash the bloodstains from your hands?”
Spectacular range with this artist. On the one hand you have
Bill Frisell with the great Ron Carter and Paul Motian
and then equally haunting
Bill Frisell with Elvis Costello on Deep Dead Blue
Thanks Paul
Editor’s note: Thanks John. I will have to look into that album with Elvis Costello. Perhaps we will post one of those songs. Is there one that you would especially like for us to do—you can be famous: A Blogfinger guest DJ. contact: Blogfinger@verizon.net
Frank: In November we did a post on the Disfarmer album by Bill Frisell. I guess you missed it. I was pleased with that post because of the confluence of wonderful music and photography. Thanks for bringing it up:
