1. The ShowRoom Cinema’s new three-screen theater in Asbury Park is almost done. Owners Nancy Sabino and Mike Sodano say the new theater — directly across Cookman from their present location – should be opening sometime in November. “We’re rounding the corner toward completion,” they say on their website. Their present single-screen theater seats 50. The new place will have two theaters with 75 and 25 seats respectively plus a screening room/reception area on the upper level with about a dozen seats. This should be a great deal for serious movie lovers in Ocean Grove.
2. It may be too soon to say so, but it’s possible things will turn out OK on Broadway. We’re told that the new storm drains at the Beach-Broadway intersection worked well during this week’s rains. Of course, they haven’t been tested yet by a real deluge. Keep your fingers crossed.
