The music below is by Christine Ebersole, the star of Grey Gardens, a 2006 Broadway musical about two reclusive relatives who lived in a mansion in the Hamptons. They were related to Jacqueline Kennedy. Christine Ebersole recently performed at the Axelrod Theatre in Deal. The song opens Act 2 — “The Revolutionary Costume for Today.”

This kind of revives memories. Back when I used to do a little protesting for civil rights in the South, the authorities would photograph us surreptitiously. Somewhere in the governmental depths I’ll bet there’s a little file on me from that period. One day I should submit a FOIA request for it.
