Ivy can look beautiful and interesting, but this is not good for the house. Ivy is heavy and destructive — even to stone buildings like those at Princeton University. This owner should remove all the ivy ASAP. Of course, this would then be a boring house with no character. This begs the age old question….what price beauty?
You have to subscribe to the decorating philosophy espoused by my spouse: “Form over function.” We once had white floors—lovely to look at, but you couldn’t walk on them.
