Ocean Grove TidBits

July 9, 2012 by Blogfinger

1. Police said Monday they have charged Robert Peterson with burglary and theft to two Ocean Grove residences. Both houses are in the 50 block of Heck Avenue and both were unoccupied at the time of the burglaries, police said. Peterson, 56, is said to have resided on Main Avenue. He now resides in the Monmouth County Jail in Freehold with bail set at $50,000.

2. Neptune Township said Monday that street work at Central and Broadway has been interrupted because of an unmarked pipe underground, which is in the way of a gas main relocation. The Township is waiting on the water company to determine whether the interfering pipe is “retired or live.” Meanwhile, the contractor is scheduling a concrete crew to start work on accessible ramps at the intersection. This info comes from Leanne Hoffman, director of engineering and planning.

For the police blotter: three friends had their bags stolen while swimming at the OG beach last Sunday. All three had iPhones. The police couldnt help so called me up and came over to use the Find My Phone app on my phone Using their Apple IDs we were able to locate the phones precisely where they had been stashed in a garbage can in a park right across the lake in Bradley Beach. They also found their bags and contents strewn about the park. They got back everything except one guys wallet. If you have an iPhone get the app!
